Just testing a post from Flickr. In danger of getting of into a bit of a loop here!

Dancing Girls

I thought Sophie was just going to Ballet classes, but god knows what they are teaching here there! She’s a great little dancer and needs no encouragement to boogie. In fact her current favourite is indeed I Love to Boogie by T-rex. Lauren is getting a taste for pop music too!

Nearly there

I was at the house at 0700 this morning pulling back underlay and pulling up floorboards. Neil the joiner arrived at about 0745 and got stuck into the skirting in the living room. If it looks alright I’ll put down some plywood this evening so that the room is at least clean for the furniture arriving on Tuesday. The fireplace will not be arriving until December so we do need to clean this room up as much as possible just in case Christmas comes and goes with no firepalce.

The plumber – a new one this time – arrived at 0900 and is busy hanging radiators at the moment and will hopefully be finished by the time the carpet guys get back after lunch. Once that’s done and he can start the heating again we should be sorted.

Then the botched kitchen counter is coming back on Thursday to be fitted – hopefully correctly this time. Really looking forward to that.

The house is still full of boxes and boxes of clothes and miscellaneous crap but we will be sorting that out when we are back in.

Baby #2 is enroute

The contractions started last night and Jeanie is pacing the floor and getting ready to go out for a long walk. Mum and Dad arrived yesterday so it’s great that the baby seems to be coming while they are here. I’d hate to send a second set of parents home with no baby!

Sophie had been getting very excited about it but decided that it wasn’t coming now and Jean was just joking. It’s going to be very interesting to see how she reacts over the first few days.

I’ve come into work for a few hours today to leave things in order for next week which I will take off. I was also feeling a bit of a spare tool at home going “are you OK” every few minutes. Better to stay cool about it until we are ready to get in the car and head off to the hospital.

I’ll try to put a few pics up this afternoon.

Come out, come out wherever you are!

Getting close to the birth date now. Baby number two is due on Wednesday 25th April so it a statistical certainty that I can go anywhere and do anything that day without fear of missing the big event. I even have an invitation to a meeting and an overnight in Paris – on 25th April – but do you think I’m going to chance it? Nope.

Sophie is getting very excited now about the new baby. She started singing to the bump last night “Come out, come out wherever you are. Come out, come out to play”. I know she isn’t really expecting to play football with it day one but I think she’ll be surprised by the lack of major interaction for several months. We shall have to keep her occupied with other things such as the French classes she started yesterday, and swimming classes she’s been doing for a few weeks. Will have to think up a couple of ideas for a present for her when the baby comes.

I’m busying myself at the moment redecorating our bedroom which I started stripping a few weeks ago and which is now getting some lining paper. It’s really difficult sequencing things because an electrician is coming in a few weeks to rip up my walls again so I have to stop the lining paper one roll from the bottom (yes I am doing it the right but difficult way – horizontally – just so I can do this). Going to look good, plus we got new blinds delivered during the week so we can finally take down the net curtains!
