Happy 3rd Birthday Sophie!

Hope you enjoyed your birthday party with Cian, Helen and Marc, Owen, Mimi, Grandad, and your Mummy and Daddy!

Sophie was playing with the bike in the kitchen the night she got it and then disappeared into her room – crashing noise of lego and other toys being cast over her shoulder. I was envisaging Yoda in the swamp on Dagobah. Then she re-emerged with the red strap from her guitar. “To lock the bicycle” she said . Rough town obviously!

Dancing. More Dancing.

OK I know it’s sideways. Reminds me of Ronan videoing Fin’s wedding on Angela’s camcorder – we had to turn a portable telly on it’s side to watch it. Another archive video from I think August 2005. Sophie headbanging to Greenday on the radio. I kept turning it down and she kept turning it right back up again. Finally she bangs her head on the steering wheel and gets really annoyed. Not a huge Greenday fan myself (the whole neo-punk thing seems a little forced after 1979 although I like their politics), but Sophie has an eclectic taste shall we say!

Going Shopping

Definitely a little girl – she loves “going shopping”, buying clothes, going for coffee, and doing all the above with a handbag clutched under her arm. Of course she has a plastic hippo bath toy in her handbag, which is not accepted at any of the major outlets as far as I’m aware. Adam

Sophie’s first steps – from the archives

I originally posted a tiny video from the Nokia 7610 showing the first time she let go of the furniture and headed off by herself. Well I found this video from the Nikon about 20 minutes later which I can now present in it’s full glory, for the first time, directors cut. Having seen her starting to walk I trailed her every move with the camera that evening and caught her for the first time going to the middle of the floor and standing up unaided – you can see the look of achievement on her face.
Sophie will be three in a few weeks and I thought it might be nice to put up some older stuff for you to enjoy!

That’s a satellite dish cable she’s chewing on by the way!

Hungarian Goulash

Mum enjoying a goulash somewhere in Budapest – a pic sent to me by Dad today. He describes the current public uprising there as a buch of dossers hanging around parliament cooking sausages and selling rubbish. Good for tourism this political upheaval. I can imagine all the political tourists who missed the Berlin wall turning up for a bit of the action. Of course Dad is just there to get a new set of gnashers. Told him to keep an eye to the ground because there may be plenty of spare teeth lying around!
