Sophie has had a great day. She turned Six today, and had a joint party with her friend Tom, who is 6 also. It seems the entire class plus a few extras were there – we had 38 kids in a church hall and an entertainer called “Super Worm” who was excellent. One of the downsides of having such a large party is you can put your back out carrying all your presents home, so she had to get some help!
Sophie’s school is holding an event for parents this morning. We are all invited to lunch and the kids are playing waiters. Lovely healthy lunch of carrot sticks and buns!
Very nice surprise this afternoon. Mum and Dad turned up on my doorstep to stay with us until Tuesday so my good lady wife can take me away to the lake district for a couple of nights. The occasion? My 40th on Tuesday. Let this be the last time we mention it….
