Col du Soulor and Col d’Aubisque

Pyrenees day two. A wet day was expected so we went with a limited programme aimed at finishing before 1400 when the heaviest rain was due to come. Chris, our guide, decided to support us in the van rather than climb with us so at least we could load on the layers when we got to the top. Col du Solour was unexpectedly tough as we thought it would be a prelude to Aubusque.

Col du Tourmalet and Col d’Aspin

Day one in the Pyrenees with the Harrogate cycling crew. Up Tourmalet first thing, lunch at La Mongie on the way down and then straight up the Col d’Aspin. We have have nothing to compare to this in North Yorkshire so my training has consisted of tackling the same hills two and three times. we got up there and managed to complete three days of climbing so it paid off. I now need to gain a little more courage on the descents!{CAPTION}
